Despite some bad press, email marketing remains one of the best performing digital marking tools available.  Here are six useful tips you can implement to increase the Click-Through-Rate (CTR) of your email marketing campaigns.

1. Keep the Subject Lines Relevant and Concise

The subject line is the first thing  that will catch the attention of your target audience. It should stand out from the crowd of hundreds of emails in their inbox. An attractive subject line will compel the recipients to open your email. So, take your time and decide a subject line that works: Keep the subject line as short as possible (50 characters or less), while remaining clear and concise.

2. Solve Their Problem

Ask yourself a question: what kind of marketing emails do you open most? If you know that an email from a certain source will help you solve your problems, wouldn’t you open it? The same holds true for your audience. Along with your marketing components, the links to your website etc., try and provide solutions to some of the common difficulties your readers  might face in their businesses. Try to make your marketing email look customized for the reader. Write as if you are speaking to only one person. And remember, never be overly promotional.

3. Know the Right Time

When do you send the emails to your target audience? You need to know the right time to send your emails. Researches shows that emails sent on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays achieve the most opens. Do some research and analyze previous campaigns  to know what the best day and time to reach your audience.

4. Get Creative with your Preview Text

In most emails, the reader usually is able to see the subject and a little more than that – The preview text, which is an introduction text,  just below the subject line. As the name suggests, this line will contain a few lines describing the content of the email. Use the preview text to make your reader want to read more.

5. Include an Attractive Image

People consume digital media differently, and usually scan rather than read. Design your email so that is visual, with relevant images that break up different blocks of information. With the short time allocated to each eamil a striking image can grab a readers attention and direct it to your content.

6. Use Social Sharing Buttons

Make it easy to share your email, have a easy forward option and also include social buttons. Always make it easy to share your content!
