Google My Business: The New Digital Handlebar Service from Google

Just now, Google informed a substantial change for small and local businesses. The change also included its latest service, Google My Business. The service consists of a single dashboard to manage a company’s full slate of Google connections; from listings, geo-location, customer service and marketing outreach.

The updates simplify the complicated features that are not too user-friendly. Initially created to support small and local businesses, Google My Business will also be welcomed by people who manage non-local Google+ pages.

The previously complicated page management dashboard has been replaced by a simpler My Business page. From that page, users can post content, track their analytics, respond to customers, even launch Google Hangouts. For those who really need the service anytime anywhere, there’s also a Google My Business Android app with a iOS version coming soon.

The new Insights feature will give more information to the Google+ page managers about who is interacting with brand content. Facebook has long offered their own insights feature to page managers, so this is definitely not a new thing. However, the feature might encourages more brands to re-engage with Google+, which has little audiences compared to other social media giants.
