‘Looks Like Music’: A Robot That Track Colours and Turned Them Into Music

|

A brilliant Japanese designer, Yuri Suzuki, has invented ‘Looks Like Music’. It is an audio-visual installation that consists of miniature robots which detect and follow a track, made from a black line traced in marker pen which alternated with coloured parts. The robots translate these colours into various sounds in real time.

Each robot has two pieces of Arduino-powered sensors that give the robot the ability to track and convert colours into sound. Anyone who views the installation, can pick create their own ‘coloured track’ lane as the community comes together to create the piece of art.  This is such a good example of how a modern technology can be fused with a work of art. Brilliant.
