On August 24, Facebook hit a relatively big milestone for the first time ever, where 1 billion people all over the world used Facebook in a single day.
This means that 1 in 7 people on Earth leveraged the social network to connect with their friends and family in just one day. For comparison, Twitter has just 316 million monthly active users and sees only 500 million Tweets sent per day.
“A more open and connected world is a better world. It brings stronger relationships with those you love, a stronger economy with more opportunities, and a stronger society that reflects all of our values,” said Zuckerberg in one of his post.
As Facebook’s user base continues to grow, the social network further cements itself as a top place on the Web for businesses to have a presence. After all, what brand would turn down an audience of 1 billion?
