Just a few weeks after introducing landscape mode, popular Twitter-owned digital video broadcasting service Periscope is bringing user profiles to the Web.

The mobile live stream platform announced that each user now has a dedicated desktop page, while the design is exceedingly minimal unless a stream is occurring however.

While Periscope is still forcing its 24-hour expiration date on videos, it’s a clear sign that Twitter is thinking beyond the smartphone and sees potential in moving away from its exclusive mobile, time-sensitive offering.

“We think it’s really important for broadcasters to have a home on the web, and today’s launch is just the beginning,” said Periscope representative.
