Usually, user had to swipe left and right before you crossed the dating road on Tinder street. Now, the lovebirds have one more option to express themselves.

The US-based online dating app has now introduced a ‘swipe up’ gesture for those who want to express enthusiasm to their potential matches. Instead of choosing to debut the ‘Super Like’ feature in its home base, Tinder announced that the feature has only been rolled out in Australia and will be made available to users worldwide by the end of 2015.

Each user will only have access to a “limited number of Super Likes” and this will force users to be selective with their swipe-ups, which can influence whether the person on the receiving end will swipe left or right on them. Users who see that they have received a Super Like (made obvious with a blue footer) have more incentive to take a chance with a swipe right. After all, the other person has expressed his or her enthusiasm, a rarity in today’s apathy-driven dating scene.

“… People like to know that someone finds them special, and we think this will lead to even better matches,” said Sean Rad, CEO, Tinder. “In this and future product releases we’re focussed on maintaining the incredible fun of the Tinder community while providing our users with better tools for making great connections.”

For this particular launch in Australia, users will receive one ‘Super Like’ token per day.
