Here is a rather shocking news for any premium online advertisers out there: 79 percent of users almost never click online ads and 38 percent of users don’t pay attention to internet advertisement.
Personalised and behavior-based ads are not perceived favorably, 71 percent find them intrusive or annoying. However, 55 percent say a relevant message is the top factor that will make them click an ad and 36 percent have discovered a new product or brand through an online advertisement, yet 90 percent have never made a purchase commitment or submitted their contact information after clicking on an ad.
This doesn’t mean paid media is dead, but rather that there is a room for improvement. If brands want to break through the noise and build companies that successfully engage and convert prospects, they’ll need to work harder on the front end.
