Google users will soon see more alerts that sites have been compromised or are using unsafe practices that could cause harm (malware, ad injectors, etc.), thanks to the latest changes to its Safe Browsing filter.

The company first introduced its increased focus on unwanted software and its negative affect on the browsing experience of its users last year (2014), but in the coming weeks Google will reveal additional improvements to Google Safe Browsing’s ability to detect deceptive software and other online threats.

Whatever changes are coming, be they as a result of stricter rules on what warrants a warning or simply because the filters are better at detection, webmasters should embrace the development as it sends a clear sign about what’s is potentially affecting a website in a negative way in the virtual eyes of Google.
