AT&T Is Finally Confirmed Its Data Rollover Program

at-and-t

AT&T is following T-Mobile’s footsteps in the roll-over data space. Now, the company’s wireless customers will be able to roll over their unused data for use within the next month.

Starting from January 25, all new and current AT&T Mobile Share Value customers will automatically receive the Rollover Data feature at no additional cost.

Unlike T-Mobile’s Data Stash data rollover program last month, AT&T’s program will only let data be used the following month. T-Mobile’s plan allows users to rollover data for year. The company’s rollover options also only apply to AT&T Mobile Share Value customers. Pre-paid customers or those with grandfathered older data plans are not eligible for the promotion.

The rollover data can be shared with everyone on the same Mobile Share Value plan. In other words, if users have a shared bucket of 5GB of data and only use 2GB one month, the additional 3GB will be available to all users on that plan the following month.

In addition to expiring after one billing period if unused, rollover data will also expire if any change is made to your data plan. In other words, if you think you can drop down to a cheaper data plan and take advantage of the data you saved up the month before — think again. Regardless, it’s nice to see more wireless carriers getting on board with the idea of rollover data. It just a matter of time before Verizon will follow the same step.
